Civray and it's surrounding area offers a range of activities to suit everyone, from the energetic to the more leisurely pursuits.

There are opportunities to go canoeing, tree-rappelling, cycling, horse-riding and rambling.

For the quieter moments you can visit museums, abbeys, galleries and take tours around historic towns and villages.

Further afield there are places to visit like Poitiers with it's popular Futuroscope and Angouléme where a vintage car race is held in the streets of the old town every September.

Near L'isle Jourdain there is Le Vigeant, Circuit du Val de Vienne.  A circuit where they hold regular meetings for Car and Motorcycle racing.

If you wish to visit the coast there is the famous port of La Rochelle with an Aquarium which is open until 11.00p.m. in the summer months and the beautiful beaches of Royan.
